Tweechol Botanical Garden Overview

Tweechol Botanical Garden is a 302-rai (115-acre) in Chiang Mai, created to blend nature, culture, and family experiences into one green sanctuary. For over 30 years, the garden has grown from a private passion into one of the most diverse botanic gardens in Chiang Mai, featuring rare palms, cycads, tropical flowers, Thai herbs, and a beautifully preserved 100-year-old Thai traditional house. Today, it stands as a welcoming green space for everyone — especially people who love nature, families with children, wellness travelers, photographers, and schools.

Children can also enjoy the Animal Experience Zone, where many rescued animals live safely under our care. During the COVID period, Tweechol Botanical Garden provided a home for animals in need — including buffalo saved from slaughterhouses, deer adopted from other zoos, and several species donated to us for rescue and long-term care.

For wellness lovers, the garden offers two signature experiences:

• Herb Garden (21 zones) — Each zone features Thai herbs grouped by their healing benefits. Visitors can learn how Thai herbs support health, such as herbs traditionally linked to cancer-related wellness, digestion, immunity, relaxation, and more.

• Breathing Garden — A forest zone rich in natural phytoncide, plant-based aromatic compounds known to support mood, reduce stress, strengthen the immune system, and ease symptoms related to depression and fatigue.

Schools and group tours can also enjoy cultural learning, nature education, and practical workshops. Custom programs are available upon request for field trips and educational groups.

The garden is also perfect for slow travel and relaxation, offering beautiful photography spots, peaceful green lawns, and bicycle routes. Every visitor also receives a 20-minute tram tour with both Thai and English audio, making it easy to learn about the garden's history and unique plant collections.

Whether you search for a Botanic Garden in Chiang Mai, a nature park for families, or a peaceful place to reconnect with greenery, Tweechol Botanical Garden invites you to rediscover the joy of nature — one tree, one flower, and one experience at a time.
